National

In Islam, Hijrah means to move from a place and situation, OR a quality that is not good to one that is more pleasing to Allah Subhanahu Wataala. Hijrah requires istiqamah OR steadfastness, which is to continue in doing good while trying to improve oneself to be better. This was shared by the Head of Imarah Division, Department of Mosque Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs in an interview with RTB.

Awang Haji Fansuri Sharimi@Haji Mansur bin Mohamad Ali added that a change does not have to be drastic, but rather, gradual. First, through doa or prayer. Second, one must do self-reflection. Third, we must be determined to be a righteous individual. As a human, we want to continue to improve our ibadah or acts of worship. Hijrah also means improving our knowledge, charity, and our way of life.
